SOPHIA LIN

Sophia Lin is a hands-on operator and investor with a track record of turning underperforming businesses into high-performing ventures. She brings deep experience in M&A, strategic finance, and venture building, consistently delivering 15–25% IRR through disciplined investments, streamlined operations, and data-driven strategy.

Before founding Ésquare Lab, Sophia earned her MBA from MIT and began her career in banking and private equity. She later led M&A and corporate finance for a publicly traded company, helping scale revenue 5x through acquisitions and growth initiatives. She also serves as a partner at Dots Global, where she advises founders and institutions on turning bold ideas into real-world ventures.

Sophia was named a Girls in Tech 40 Under 40 honoree and is a frequent speaker and mentor in the startup ecosystem, including engagements at the Harvard Business School Finance Conference and as a judge for the MIT $100K Entrepreneurship Competition. She believes real businesses are built on execution, not buzzwords.

Born and raised in Taiwan, Sophia has lived and worked across six countries on four continents. She travels the world to uncover hidden opportunities and believes diverse perspectives lead to better business. When she’s not deep in spreadsheets, she’s mentoring entrepreneurs or mapping out her next road trip.
